Intro

Starlink is a new series of my blog concentrating on famous people’s quotes in different fields including science, literature, art etc. I think these simple words could offer us a huge amount of space to imagine and to rethink ourselves. Elon Musk’s “Starlink” project will be finished in the few years, each satellite is similar to a master in some research fields and they all can afford high speed access to wisdom across the globe, that’s why I title it Starlink.

Mark Rober:

Mark Rober is a YouTuber who is known for his YouTube videos on some DIY projects such as a trap for package thieves. It’s also one of my favorite videos these years. Today, I want to share a good processing of engineering design via Mark Rober.

Engineering design process

1. Research: I will go online and look at any published papers, watch any videos on the topic, and then talk via Skype or email with any experts I could find. That usually gives me a rough idea of where to start
2. Build a prototype: A good prototype is cheap so you can try a lot of different things.
3. Sensitivity analysis with prototype(What matters?): That means we try lots of different combinations of settings to see what actually matters and what doesn’t. And only in that point are we ready to take what we’ve learned and move to step 4
